Dominica I Passionis - Passion Sunday Lauds

This third Lauds antiphon for Passion Sunday draws from Lamentations 3:58-59: 'Thou hast judged, O Lord, the cause of my soul, thou the Redeemer of my life.' The title 'Defensor vitae meae' (defender of my life) applies to Christ who defends the soul against sin and death through His Passion.
