About This Prayer

Prayer Text
LATINE
V. Adoramus te, Christe, et benedicimus tibi.
R. Quia per sanctam Crucem tuam redemisti mundum.
STATIO XII — Iesus moritur in Cruce
Considera quomodo Iesus, consumptis tribus horis agoniae in Cruce, exhaustus dolore, caput inclinavit et spiritum emisit.
Iesu mi moriens, osculor Crucem in qua pro me mortuus es.
Numquam permittas ut iterum a te separar. Da ut semper te amem, et postea fac de me quidquid tibi placuerit.
Pater Noster. Ave Maria. Gloria Patri.
V. Miserere nostri, Domine.
R. Miserere nostri.
ENGLISH

STATION XII — Jesus Dies on the Cross
Consider how Jesus, after three hours of agony on the Cross, exhausted with suffering, bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
My dying Jesus, I kiss the Cross on which Thou didst die for me. I deserved a thousand deaths for my sins; but Thy death is my hope. By the merits of Thy death, grant me the grace to die embracing Thy feet and burning with love for Thee.
I love Thee, my Jesus, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.
Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory Be.
V. Have mercy on us, O Lord.
R. Have mercy on us.
