About This Prayer

Prayer Text

V. Adoramus te, Christe, et benedicimus tibi.
R. Quia per sanctam Crucem tuam redemisti mundum.
STATIO V — Simon Cyrenaeus adiuvat Iesum Crucem portare
Numquam permittas ut iterum a te separar.
Pater Noster. Ave Maria. Gloria Patri.
V. Miserere nostri, Domine.
R. Miserere nostri.
ENGLISH
V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we bless Thee.
R. Because by Thy holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the world.
STATION V — Simon of Cyrene Helps Jesus Carry the Cross
Consider how the Jews, seeing that Jesus was so weakened and fearing He might die on the way, forced Simon of Cyrene to help carry His Cross.
My most loving Jesus, I will not refuse any cross Thou wilt send me. I embrace all crosses. I embrace above all the death Thou hast destined for me, with all the pains that will accompany it. I unite my death with Thine and offer it to Thee.
I love Thee, my Jesus, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.
Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory Be.
V. Have mercy on us, O Lord.
R. Have mercy on us.
