About This Prayer
Josue 1:9 records God's command to Joshua before the conquest of Canaan: 'Take courage and be strong... the Lord thy God is with thee.' Ecce praecipio tibi: confortare et esto robustus.
Noli metuere et noli timere:
quoniam tecum est Dominus Deus tuus
in omnibus ad quaecumque perrexeris.
ENGLISH
Behold I command thee, take courage, and be strong.
Fear not and be not dismayed:
because the Lord thy God is with thee
in all things whatsoever thou shalt go to.
