CONFITEOR

The Confession

About This Prayer

The Confiteor is the Church's public confession of sin from the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar in the Tridentine Mass. The pre-Vatican II form includes the full enumeration of intercessors (Michael, John the Baptist, Peter and Paul) and the triple breast-striking ('mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa').
