About This Prayer

The brief responsory at Terce during Ascensiontide proclaims 'God is ascended with jubilation, and the Lord with the sound of the trumpet' from Psalm 46:6. The Alleluias multiply in paschal exuberance. The verse 'Christ ascending on high has led captivity captive' quotes Ephesians 4:8, Paul's application of Psalm 67 to Christ's victorious ascent.
