Responsorium II - Nocturn I
Second Sunday of Lent, Nocturn I, Responsory 2
About This Prayer
This responsory for the Second Sunday of Lent recalls Isaac's blessing of Jacob with 'the dew of heaven and the fatness of the earth, abundance of corn and wine' (Genesis 27:28). The patriarchal blessing prefigures the Eucharistic gifts of bread and wine. The responsory connects the Old Testament promises to the New Covenant established in Christ's Passion.
