The collect petitions God who 'de beatae Mariae Virginis utero Verbum tuum, Angelo nuntiante, carnem suscipere voluisti' (wast pleased that thy Word, when the Angel delivered his message, should take flesh in the womb of the blessed Virgin Mary). The Incarnation is precisely located: 'Angelo nuntiante' (the Angel announcing) specifies the Annunciation moment.
