Feria III Hebdomadae Sanctae - Holy Tuesday Lauds Benedictus

This Benedictus antiphon for Holy Tuesday draws from John 13:1: 'Before the festival day of the Pasch, Jesus knowing that his hour was come, having loved his own, he loved them unto the end.' The Last Supper discourse begins. The antiphon emphasizes Christ's deliberate choice to face death out of love, 'in finem' - to the end, to the uttermost.
