Feria II post Dominicam I Adventus - Vespers Magnificat

Monday Vespers' antiphon commands Jerusalem to lift her eyes and see the King's power. The Saviour's coming to loose chains figures redemption from sin's bondage. The Magnificat's canticle of liberation follows appropriately.

Leva, Jerusalem, oculos tuos, et vide potentiam regis: ecce Salvator venit solvere te a vinculo.
ENGLISH
Lift up, O Jerusalem, thine eyes, and see that the king is mighty. Behold thy Saviour shall come and loose thee from thy chains.
