Advent I - Lauds Antiphon 5

"Ecce veniet Propheta magnus" (Behold the great Prophet will come) identifies Christ with the prophet like Moses (Deut 18:15). His renewal of Jerusalem fulfills prophetic expectation. The term "Propheta magnus" connects Jesus to Moses, Elias, and the prophetic tradition He completes.
