"Jucundare, filia Sion" (Be joyful, daughter of Zion) from Zacharias 9:9 addresses Jerusalem as a woman called to exult. This verse, fulfilled on Palm Sunday, applies to Advent as the Church anticipates her King's arrival. The feminine personification connects Advent to Marian themes.
